This pillow is made with vintage hand loomed cotton from Burkina Faso in West Africa. You can really see the hand of the weaver in each piece. The cotton fades and distresses like denim, plus its unbelievably soft. I paired them with complimentary fabrics from my collection. I used the selvedge edge of the cloth in this one so it looks like a fuzzy fringe, its pretty cool.
All of my pillows are made with 2nd hand fabrics sourced from the fashion and interior design industries as well as vintage shops and estate sales. This way I get fabrics unavailable to anyone else and give some rad old fabrics a new life for you to love! The fabrics may carry a visual history of their previous life (wear marks in a pair of old jeans or the red wine stain of a linen tablecloth). These choices are intentional, showing the character of the journey of the fabric.
