Vintage Gray woven blanket with Green, Blue, and Red
Vintage Gray woven blanket with Green, Blue, and Red
54 × 86”
I got this blanket from friends who got it while they were in the peace corps in Central America. Its got such a wonderful rustic charm. Its hand made by and indigenous weaver. The line in the middle down the length of it shows it was made by a super cool process called double weave. The process allows the weaver to essentially weave two pieces of fabric at the same time connected on one side that when done is opened flat and double the width of the fabric. Its such a rad resourceful process that allows someone with a small operation to make more money selling bigger stuff to tourists. I love that the history of the process is present.
This is the perfect blanket for snuggling! So soft and cozy. There is one small hole near one corner, proof that it had been providing coziness for ages! Wool with cotton warp.
Please keep in mind that when buying Vintage items you are buying something that is pre-loved. Most Vintage items show signs of wear, but that is also what makes them so unique. I’m only selling things that I think are fabulous, so you are sure to love them.
